About Fiji

Exadel Fiji extends JSF by allowing the use of Flex with JSF components and within a jsf page. When using Fiji Flex components, developers can use Flex under the same familiar JSF component-based approach to building user interfaces.

Flex is one of the most popular technologies for building Rich Internet Applications. Using JSF has become easy as libraries such as RichFaces provide many out-of-the-box AJAX components that shield the developer from complicated, browser-dependent JavaScript. The demand for even richer and more dynamic data presentation using charts and graphs has become evident, and enterprises desire to realize the benefits of Web 2.0. To go beyond the browser, we can use Flex. Flex runs inside the Flash virtual machine, which installs as a plug-in into any browser and offers a much rich environment than the browser alone.
While using JSF and Flex on the same page was possible before, the implementation was complicated and time consuming; this is where Fiji comes in. Fiji extends JSF providing a natural and elegant way to use Flex Components.
